Edit: Moved this topic to a public part of the forum (where guests can go)

So, several months ago I secretly started to recreate LEGO Island 1 and 2 in MC, though I did stop at some point. Though as of now I'm deciding to be a bit more open about the project now that I've actually gone quite a bit of ways and will probably eventually finish the project, well at least the first island.

COMPLETE!

Instructions before you download.
The world is in a .zip file with (world) in the file name, extract to saves. The textures is the other .zip file there. Don't extract and put into your texturepacks folder. There is also a low quality (half the size textures) version there as well if wanting to stick with default texture resolution. Also, please read everything after downloads as well while your waiting for the downloads, it's important.

Downloads:
Regular: The main download.
mediafire.com ?cvy167vv9uitx

Boundryless: This is version is more for if you want to turn it into your own survival map.
mediafire.com ?zwfol9aat45gh

Patch your game with MCPatcher and have the options custom colors and hd textures checked on the mods tab. On the options tab have everything set to "custom animated". These things are required for the water and lava textures to work as well as some other things not to be glitchy. If you don't want this get the low quality versions of the texture packs.

Optional downloads:

This changes the music on the discs and some sfx.
Mod Required: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/633749-132-sound-mod-enabler-v24/

Custom sounds:
Extract and put in resources folder
mediafire.com ?pci0c2hhx57veli

Custom item names (English only):
Open your Minecraft jar and put this in the lang folder. NOTE: Make a backup of the original file because it is replacing the default!
mediafire.com ?8hv0qxp8lwwc7ff

Special thanks to Lair for pre-release testing.
_________________________________________________________________

I might update this depending if you guys want it or not. Like adding more custom items and mobs and stuff (well, changing the gfx that is).

For mobs (LI2) at least one could be the Brickster Bots, although I'm sure you already thought of that.

Another for LI1 could be the ghosts that appear in the Racetrack and whilst doing ACT 3 I think it is. If possible, perhaps you could make mobs for each individual minifig on the island to emulate it more completely. Or if an alternative exists yielding the same goal you could do that instead. As I've never played MC apart from Classic nor researched very far into it naturally I'm not excessively knowledgeable of it.

Not only did I already think of it, I already did it.

The closest thing to a ghost would be the ghasts from the underworld, and there isn't enough mobs to make each individual minifig, nor is there an alternate way, unless one was to mod the game and program some extra content.
Since you've never played MC, I'll provide you a page with the list of all the mobs. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Mobs

Oh, okay, I suspected you might have. As I don't have MC there wouldn't be much point in my downloading any of this, if only to use subsequent to getting MC.

And thank you, Sega. Not to derail this topic or anything, but for whatever reason I don't like when you talk so seriously to me, even though this is a serious context. I'm silly, I know. In fact, you probably shouldn't reply to this part of this post directly, but rather someplace else, if at all. It isn't that important, it's just personal preference.

I didn't have much choice but to respond that way, can't help that.

I finally downloaded all of the necessary things and...

My reaction was speechless. I was SPEECHLESS. This is possibly the GREATEST recreation of the LI map of ALL TIME.

Sega, my boy... You are a prince among men. You NEED to get this out. make it into a server, with other LI maps in it. Make it a museum server, I don't care. DO IT.

DO IT NAO!

I definitely had the thought of making it a server, though the problem is that my dad won't let me port forward. Btw, I won't be putting this on RRU, at least not right away, so the content as of now will be TIC only.

There is one thing about the map I can quite figure out what is wrong.
In the picture there is extra space (vertically) between the roads which that box shows. I can see that the race track isn't dead on, but even if that was fixed there would still be size issues.

There are a few other issues with things being off but I'm not going to go into them, at least not right now.... I think I need to fix the colour of some roofs.

As I probably can't view it in-game or perhaps otherwise, would you please upload and post either in this topic or elsewhere a top-down view of the island in MC, except not halved so the island be can seen in its entirety? I'm just curious to see what it all looks like. In fact, you probably do have such an image and just cropped it and the pic Cirevam posted of what Lair did. At least that's what it looks like you might have done.

Although you don't want to go into them, in terms of things being off at least one would be the couple curves missing on the path stemming from behind the gas station up to the Info Centre past the circle.

Yes, that is exactly what I did, and I can do that.

That path was very tricky, so I had to change a few things and I was content with what I got. :)

I have tried out your map, and I was really impressed! You have made it just like the real Island with a very, very good attention to detail. Thank you for making this map, it is really fantastic work!

Heheh, yup. If I do something, I make sure I'm going to do it well, and not a half good job.
Glad to have another person appreciate my work. :)
